SELF-CLEANING BOXES Some owners with large numbers of cats and absolutely no time to scoop may think these boxes are a time-saver, but they can really be a curse. The electronic boxes may deter cats from entering if they approach while the motor and rake are still cleaning up from a previous cat’s visit. I also find the actual litter surface areas of the electronic boxes to be too small. The box itself seems large, but that’s just because it has to house the motor and the soiled litter receptacle. The rake can also get stuck if the litter clump is exceptionally large. The rake may also get stuck on large clumps of diarrhea as well.
